Truckee Area Attractions
I loved living in Truckee, you'll know why after you see these pictures and read the captions.
There are 6 ski resorts within 20 miles of Truckee. Each year I bought a season pass at either Northstar or Alpine Meadows and skied at least a couple dozen days a year.
There are many great mountain golf courses in and around Truckee. This is the Tahoe Donner golf course where I lived. Each year I bought a season pass and played a lot of golf for many years.
Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake were both great for kayaking. I bought a kayak when I first moved to Truckee and kayaked at both lakes in the summertime.
The Lake Tahoe area has some of the best backpacking around, including Desolation Wilderness. I love the outdoors and went backpacking for several years.
There are mountain bike trails all around Lake Tahoe and at many of the ski resorts. I enjoyed mountain bike riding.
Rafting down the Truckee River was exciting and always a lot of fun. I went rafting several times throughout the years.

Tahoe Donner has a private beach at Donner Lake where I spent time in the summer.
Sunnyside restaurant's outdoor deck overlooking Lake Tahoe was one of my favorite places for dinner and drinks.
Camp Richardson is my favorite beach at Lake Tahoe. On the weekends in the summer, there was live music where people sat around by the band on the beach in bathing suits to drink and listen to the music.
Concert in the park was a Truckee tradition every Wednesday night during the summer, I tried never to miss it.
Truckee downtown farmers market was a good place to hangout and see my friends.
